Akron Aeros announce 2006 roster

Team looking to defend Eastern League title

Akron, OH - The Akron Aeros today released their 24-man roster to start the 2006 campaign. This year's squad features 16 of 24 members from the 2005 Eastern League Championship team, including Cleveland Indians Minor League Player of the Year RYAN MULHERN. Other top prospects who will start their season in Akron include OF BRAD SNYDER, LHP RAFAEL PEREZ, RHP ADAM MILLER, RHP EDWARD MUJICA, 3B KEVIN KOUZMANOFF and INF PAT OSBORN.

The Aeros will have an entirely new coaching staff for the 2006 season. TIM BOGAR comes over from the Houston organization to be the Aeros manager, SCOTT RADINSKY will serve as Pitching Coach and FELIX FERMIN will be the Aeros coach. TOREY LOVULLO, the Aeros '05 Manager, was promoted to Triple A Buffalo along with Pitching Coach GREG HIBBARD. WAYNE KIRBY, who served as a coach with the Aeros last season, is now in the Texas Rangers minor league system.

The Aeros start the season on Thursday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m. when they travel to play the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets). Akron will kick-off their 10th Anniversary season at home on Thursday, April 13 at 7:05 p.m. against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals).
