Fourth Inning Dooms Idaho Falls Again
Idaho Falls, Idaho -- A four run fourth inning propels Ogden past Idaho Falls. The Chukars begin the four game homestand with a 7-3 loss to Ogden.
The Chukars (2-7) scored the first run of the game. New first baseman Cody Stubbs doubled to deep right field in his first professional at-bat. Stubbs joins the team from North Carolina, fresh off a College World Series appearance. He later scored in the frame to put the Greybirds up 1-0.
All seven of Ogden's runs came in the third and fourth innings. Hank Yates doubled off of Cody Reed (0-1), which scored Dillion Moyer to tie the game. Yates finished with two runs driven in. Later in the inning, one of Pat Stover's three hits on the game scored another run.
Ogden piled on with four runs in the fourth. The Raptors tallied those runs on just two infield hits. Cody Reed walked two in the inning, and allowed a Chukars pitcher season high five walks.
Tyler Mack provided quality relief for Idaho Falls. The right-hander entered the game in the fourth inning. Mack threw five complete innings, retiring ten in a row at one, and allowed just one run.
Idaho Falls has lost five in a row against Ogden. The two teams play game two of the four game set tomorrow at Melaleuca Field. Jakob Junis looks to bounce back from a rough outing against Ogden in his first start. He's opposed by Zachary Bird.
