Celebrate July 4th at Victory Field
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians invite fans to celebrate the Independence Day holiday at Victory Field as the Tribe hosts a special one-day event packed with festivities. The celebration will run throughout the evening as the Indians will be giving away free rally towels, donning stars and stripes jerseys for the game and capping off the holiday with a post-game fireworks show, all courtesy of First Financial Bank and the Indiana National Guard. Thursday's July 4th contest will begin at a special start time of 6:05 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.
During the game, fans will have the opportunity to bid on the stars and stripes jerseys worn by their favorite Indians players and coaches. Proceeds from these one-of-a-kind Independence Day jerseys will be donated to the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund.
The Indiana National Guard Relief Fund started in 2003 to provide financial assistance to Indiana soldiers and their families who experienced difficult situations due to the mobilization of family members or in times of financial hardship. The fund is a private, nonprofit corporation with the mission of giving monetary help to soldiers and military families in need.
The Indians will also be giving away rally towels to every fan in attendance to help cheer your Tribe to victory against the division rival Louisville Bats. Following the contest, patrons will be invited to watch the skies of downtown Indianapolis light up from the comfort of their seats at Victory Field, with fireworks shows from both the Indians and the Downtown Freedom Blast.
Indianapolis' downtown fireworks are scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m., while the Indians will launch their own pyrotechnics between the conclusion of the evening's game and the Freedom Blast.
Tickets to the Tribe's July 4th celebration are selling quickly and fans are encouraged to purchase their seats soon. This one-day celebration is set to be one of the biggest events of the season and fans won't want to miss out on the festivities.
