Stakeout A Success. Burglars Nabbed
Jacksonville, FL - In the early morning hours of Tuesday March 10th a carefully planned, seamlessly executed reconnaissance operation organized by Suns staff and JSO nabbed two burglars suspected of removing hundreds in property from the Baseball Grounds in preceding weeks.
Commanding the Suns unit was Stadium Operations Director Matt Glancy with assistance from Administrative Assistant J.D. Metrie and a "rapid response" team consisting of Director of Broadcasting J.P. Shadrick and Director of Sponsorship Sales Chris Peters.
The stake out began at approximately 2100 hours on 9 March with Glancy and Metrie taking positions on the upper level of the Baseball Grounds hoping to catch the suspected burglars in the act. All was quiet until nearly 2300 hours when Matt "Eagle Eyes" Glancy spotted the suspects and contacted Suns Head of Security and JSO Lieutenant Rob Schoonover.
Lieutenant Schoonover, assisted by two other JSO Officers responded quickly to the scene and were granted access to the Baseball Grounds by Suns Directors Peters and Shadrick, who happened to be leaving a cultural event (WWE Monday Night Raw) across the street at Jacksonville Memorial Arena. Officers quickly detained the suspects and a rash of recent break-ins seems to have come to an end.
Commenting on the successful operation Suns President and General Manager stated, "I have to say a big THANK YOU to this wonderful team of Crime Fighters. People all over the area are sleeping better tonight knowing that these guys are on the job for all of us".
Although most of those involved were sports Management Majors during their college years, Glancy & Peters both minored in Criminal Justice.
