Hens win 5-2 to secure split with IronPigs!

July 2, 2013

The Mud Hens defeated Lehigh Valley 5-2 on the road Tuesday night to secure a weekend series split!

The Hens struck fast and furiously, piling on four first inning runs to take a 4-0 lead. Argenis Diaz scored the first run when he came across on a Cesar Hernandez error. Jordan Lennerton then doubled to score two, and Mike Cervenak followed up with a sac fly to score Lennerton and give the Hens the early advantage.

The IronPigs fought back with two runs off Kyle Lobstein in the sixth, but Lobstein otherwise subdued Lehigh Valley and earned the victory after 5 innings of six-hit, two-run ball.

Kevin Russo added a run for the Hens in the eighth when he singled with one out to score Danny Dorn and give the Hens a 5-2 lead.

The Mud Hens return home tomorrow to open up a two-game series with the Columbus Clippers at 7:00 p.m. behind LHP Pat Misch.
