Frazier, Anderson, Bankston Led Bats with Three Hits Each

March 18, 2009
Sarasota, FL - The Bats broke out the bats again as they defeated the Durham Bulls, 13-8, in their second game of the spring season.

Louisville last faced Durham in the Governors' Cup playoffs, but had no problem dismantling the 2008 South Division Winners. Wes Bankston, Drew T. Anderson and Todd Frazier each had three hits for the Bats with the three players each connecting on home runs while driving in six of the team's eight runs.

Norris Hoppper and Alex Gonzalez, sent to the Bats' minor league game to gain at-bats, each went 1-for-2 in the contest. Hopper went deep on a solo home run while Gonzalez scored two runs.

Juan Francisco and Kevin Barker also homered for Louisville.

On the mound, Sam Lecure started the game and allowed one run on one hit in two innings of work. Travis Wood was the only pitcher to hold the Bulls scoreless, he struck out two and walked one in two innings.

The Bats play an intrasquad game Thursday morning at 11:05 a.m. in Sarasota and are back in action Friday against the Rochester Red Winsg, Triple-A affliate of the Minnesota Twins. Game time is set for 1:05 p.m. in Ft. Myers.
