EVERETT TEAFORD PROMOTED
Two-Time Carolina League All-Star Headed to Double-A
Wilmington, DE - Wilmington Blue Rocks starting pitcher Everett Teaford was promoted to the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Thursday. Teaford will report to his new team over the weekend.
Off the field, Teaford was one of the most community-friendly players in franchise history. In 2008 he won the Carolina League's inaugural Matt Minker Award, which goes to the player who best exemplifies the former Wilmington owner's benevolence for the city and her people.
The left-hander spent two seasons in Wilmington, and was twice named to the Carolina League All-Star team. He leaves the Riverfront with a 15-7 record and a 3.37 ERA in his career as a Blue Rock.
As lady luck would have it, the Blue Rocks were already set to honor the pitcher by giving the first 1,000 fans in attendance on July 28 an Everett Teaford bobblehead.
