Capital Bank continues money giveaway

March 25, 2009

Mondays at McCormick Field have been a lot greener over the past three seasons thanks to Capital Bank's presence at the ballpark. At every Tourists home game on Mondays, Capital Bank employees hand out cold hard cash to fans during Mega Money Mondays. The first 750 adults through the gate receive an envelope containing between $1 and $100 in cash. There are also prizes in some of the envelopes, including Tourists tickets.

"Capital Bank is proud to partner with a great community institution like the Asheville Tourists," said Al Davis, who heads the four Capital Bank locations in the Asheville area. "And this year we are looking to bring even more excitement to Monday nights at McCormick Field."

While Mega Money Monday envelopes are continuing to be distributed as fans enter the gates, the McCormick Field Faithful could leave even happier. Should the Asheville starting pitcher throw a perfect game on a Monday, every fan in attendance at the contest will divide $1,000,000, courtesy of Capital Bank.

It's understandable why few promotions have generated more anticipation and created more positive response from the Tourists' fans since the team announced the promotion in March. In addition to receiving money when a fan enters the gate, he could be leaving with a significant chunk of change.

"Capital Bank has been a great sponsor for the last few years of the Tourists and this time they have gone above and beyond in generating excitement at the ballpark," said Chris Smith, the Tourists assistant general manager and community liaison. We really appreciate having Capital Bank step up to the plate, so to speak, for the baseball fans in Western North Carolina.

For the record, the Tourists have seven home games on Mondays during the regular season. Equally important, Capital Bank is dedicated to providing "service worth talking about" everyday of the year.

Capital Bank is a community bank dedicated to this area, and we look forward to having more fun at the ballpark with Mega Money Monday's," Davis said.
