Lindor to Play in Second All-Star Futures Game
Zebulon, N.C. - Shortstop Francisco Lindor has been selected to participate in his second Sirius/XM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 14th. The 19-year-old from Caguas, Puerto Rico, will compete for the World team against a group of American prospects at Citi Field in New York, N.Y.
Lindor participated in the 2012 showcase at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. He will join fellow Cleveland Indians prospect CC Lee in New York. In his first season with the Carolina Mudcats, the 2011 first round pick owns a .307 batting average, is third in hits (83), top 10 with 18 stolen bases and tied for the league lead with five triples. Lindor was selected to the Carolina League All-Star roster earlier this year. He finished with a hit and two RBI in the Midsummer Classic against the California League in San Jose, Calif.
