Tommy John to sign autographs at Saturday's game

Former pitcher will be at NBT Bank Stadium in support of ALS Awareness Night

Syracuse, NY-The Syracuse Chiefs will wrap up the first half of their season with a pair of games this weekend at NBT Bank Stadium against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

The Chiefs and Iron Pigs will meet on Saturday, July 13 on ALS Awareness Night with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm. Former Major League pitcher Tommy John will be on hand to sign autographs on the concourse from 6:00pm-6:45pm in support of the ALS Association. John played 26 seasons in the big leagues, including 8 with the New York Yankees. The left-hander won 288 games in his career, 164 of which came after a revolutionary surgical procedure on his pitching elbow that now bears his name. Fans can support the ALS Association by purchasing tickets to the game by visiting ChiefsGroups.com and entering a special password provided by the ALS Association Upstate NY Chapter. Saturday is also Crouse Hospital's SportsCare Express Night and complimentary General Admission tickets are available from Crouse Hospital's SportsCare Express. 

The teams will play their final game before the All-Star Break on Sunday, July 14. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00pm and Bigs and Littles from PEACE, Inc.'s Big Brothers Big Sisters program will perform the National Anthem. Fans can support BBBS of Onondaga County by purchasing tickets to the game by visiting ChiefsGroups.com and entering a special password provided by BBBS. Sunday is also a Knot Hole Gang Day and members will receive a free Hofmann hot dog, drink provided by Coca-Cola, and ice cream provided by Perry's by reporting to guest services on the concourse behind home plate before or during the game. Members will also have the opportunity to run the bases on the field after the game. Parents may register their children ages 12 and younger for the free club at guest services or online at SyracuseChiefs.com. 

Both games of the series will also feature an Autograph Session in Whistlestop Souvenirs on the concourse before each game. A Chiefs player will sign autographs in the store from 6:15pm-6:30pm on Saturday and from 1:15pm-1:30pm on Sunday.
