Blue Wahoos Supporting Mascot Kazoo in Mascot Mania

Minor League Baseball Battle of the Mascots in full swing

Calling All Wahooligans - It's Time to Help Kazoo. VOTE. Mascot Mania begins on Thursday, July 18, and the Blue Wahoos announce their participation in the event. The Wahoos are competing with up to160 organizations to have their mascot named the best in their League and in Minor League Baseball overall. 

 

  Fans have multiple means of voting to support Kazoo. Minor League Baseball online, http://atmilb.com/18kc1r7, is where fans can view photos and information on the 160 mascots and vote for their favorites in each league. Fans can vote an unlimited number of times with the online ballot, so take full advantage of this and let's stuff the ballot box for Kazoo!

 

Fans can also vote through Twitter by using the hashtag MascotMania (#MascotMania) and including the club Twitter handle in the tweet. Retweets from the official @BlueWahoosBBall twitter account also count as votes. Fans can tweet their vote a maximum of 25 times per day. During Round One, each team first competes in a group with the other teams from its own League. Each league winner advances to Round Two to compete for the overall championship.  

 

Round One begins on Thursday, July 18 and runs through noon on Thursday, August 1. Round Two starts around 2 PM EDT on Thursday, August 1 and ends at noon EDT on Thursday, August 8. The campaign features a sweepstakes where fans can win MLB.TV subscriptions, MiLB.TV subscriptions, MLB.com & MiLB.com shop giftcards and mascot themed items to enhance the appeal of the competition.  

 

Donna Kirby, the Blue Wahoos Director of Promotion and Community Relations, said the Wahoos are looking forward to supporting Kazoo and are confident the Pensacola community will be the reason for his success.

 

                "We are excited to support Kazoo as he begins this exciting adventure called Mascot Mania. We need fans' support by voting online and on Twitter. We have the best fans and the best mascot in baseball, so we will show it by winning Mascot Mania! Kazoo represents not only Wahoo spirit, but also pride in our Pensacola community" said Kirby.
