The Doubledays dropped game one 3-2 to the Williamsports Crosscutters Tuesday night at Falcon Park.

AUBURN, NY - The Doubledays dropped game one 3-2 to the Williamsports Crosscutters Tuesday night at Falcon Park.

The Doubledays (11-23) gave up two runs in the first inning to the Crosscutters (18-15). Starting pitcher Jake Johansen was outstanding on the mound for the Doubledays going five innings while allowing two runs on two hits. Johansen finished with three strikeouts and one walk.

Auburn cut the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the third when Isaac Ballou smoked his second homerun of the season over the right field wall at Falcon Park. The Virginia native trimmed the Crosscutters lead 3-2 with a RBI single in the seventh inning to score Jordan Poole. Ballou had a big night at the dish going 3-5 with two RBIs. The three hits tied his season high.

There will be a doubleheader Wednesday night with game one starting at 5:30. Game one will resume from a game against the Crosscutters on June 27th. The game will be picked up in the top of the third inning. Game one will be a seven inning game and game two will also be a seven inning game.
