A Fireworks Extravaganza Every Saturday

Saturday Nights will be a Blast with Fireworks and Special Events
March 30, 2009
WOODBRIDGE, Va.- If you're looking for a little economic relief but can't sit around hoping for a government bailout, then the Potomac Nationals are here to help. In 2009, the P-Nats will be holding daily promotions at Pfitzner Stadium dubbed the Uncle Slam Stimulus Package. Every day of the week will bring a new promotion and a unique opportunity to keep some of that hard-earned money in your wallet.

The sixth installment of the Uncle Slam Stimulus Package decrees that for every Saturday home game at "the Pfitz," there will be a spectacular display of colorful, flaming projectiles bursting in the night sky immediately following the action on the field.

Yes, that means Saturday night is Fireworks Night.

"Looking back to when we started the promotion, Fireworks Night has been by far our most popular," said Paul Barrett, Ticket Manager for the P-Nats. "The stands are always packed. A baseball game with fireworks is definitely the best way to spend a Saturday night with the entire family."

In addition to the fireworks extravaganza, the Potomac Nationals will be hosting a number of fantastic promotions on Saturday nights throughout the summer at Pfitzner Stadium.

April 18 will showcase the second annual Job Fair from 2:00-5:00 p.m. sponsored by the News and Messenger. Be sure to bring your resumes and stay for the game which will also feature the Mascot Olympics and a High School Home Run Derby.

One of the most popular nights of the year, the Potomac Nationals have added an additional Scout Night for 2009. All scouts will be welcomed to camp out on the field after the game on May 2, July 18, and August 8.

June 6 is the Potomac Nationals' annual Internet Safety Night at Pfitzner Stadium.

The P-Nats' inaugural Community Night will be held on June 20 complete with a community yard sale at the ballpark presented by the News and Messenger.

The Potomac Nationals will once again light up the sky with the largest Independence Day fireworks extravaganza in Northern Virginia. The two-day event presented by Potomac Hospital will take place July 3 and 4.

The August 1st game against the Winston-Salem Dash and fireworks extravaganza will be presented by MADD of Northern Virginia. The group will be raising funds and awareness for its charity walk which will be held on September 26 at Pfitzner Stadium.

The P-Nats', in conjunction with Geico, will be honoring former Potomac star and current Washington ace John Lannan by giving away bobble-heads to the first 1,000 fans through the gates.

For the final Saturday home game on September 5, the P-Nats will be hosting Family Fun Fest presented by Principal Financial Group.

All Saturday night games will once again start at 6:35 p.m. with gates opening an hour and a half prior to first pitch.
