Northwest League Announces All-Star Game Rosters
The Nothwest League has announced the rosters for the 2013 All-Star Game at Everett Memorial Stadium, home of the AquaSox, to be hosted on August 6. The rosters feature the league leaders in most every statistical category and numerous prospects who may feature in a Major League All-Star Game one day. They represent the best that each NWL division has to offer.
Headlining the North infield is Everett AquaSox third baseman D.J. Peterson, the NWL's leader in home runs and RBIs in the first half. Spokane's Chris Garia, the league's leader in runs scored and stolen bases, highlights the North's starting outfield. Five Vancouver Canadians were selected as starters, including first half batting champion Mike Reeves and extra-base hits machine L.B. Dantzler.
On the pitching side, the top three starters inthe NWL by ERA will headline the North staff, with Jeremy Gabryszwski and Eric Brown of Vancouver joined by Everett's Lars Huijer. Tri-City's Trent Daniel, the NWL's leader in saves, will anchor the North's bullpen. Everett and Vancouver have the most All-Stars on the North squad with eight and seven respectively, while Spokane and Tri-City each have five.
The South team will be led by a trio of tough Boise hitters. First baseman Jacob Rogers (.299 BA, 5 HR, 27 RBI), second baseman Daniel Lockhart (.311 BA, 16 RBI) and designated hitter Yasiel Balaguert (4 HR, 27 RBI) will feature prominently in the starting lineup alongside teammate Lance Rymel, three Salem-Keizer players and a player each from Hillsboro and Eugene. In total, Salem-Keizer leads the South squad with nine All-Stars, followed by Boise with eight and Eugene and Hillsboro with four each.
The South pitching staff features some low ERAs as well, and is headlined by 5-1 Andrew Leenhouts of Salem-Keizer, Boise's James Pugliese and Eugene's Erik Schoenrock. The bullpen features the South Division's leader in saves, Salem-Keizer's Reymundo Montero, and Hillsboro's Will Locante, who boasts a .161 batting average against.
Joining Erik Schoenrock in Everett will by a trio of Emeralds - starting pitcher Yimmi Brasoban, center fielder Ronnie Richardson, and first baseman Trae Santos.

The 2013 NWL All-Star Game, presented by Tulalip Resort and Casino, is the league's first since 2004. The game begins at 7:05 P.M. on Tuesday, August 6th. Gates will open at 2:30 P.M. for the pregame festivities, which include All-Star Fan Fest, made possible in part by assistance from the Snohomish County TPA Fund and the NWL Home Run Derby, presented by Safeco Insurance.
