2014 Fightin Phils Schedule Announced
READING, Pa.---The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have released their 2014 schedule in conjunction with the Eastern League and its teams. Reading will open its 48th season on Thursday, April 3 when they host the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) at 7:05 p.m.
The Fightins' 71-game home slate includes visits to Baseballtown by each of the league's clubs, including a season-high 11 visits by the Sea Dogs and 10 visits from Eastern Division rival, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays). The schedule is made up of 12 April games, 16 May games, 15 June games, 15 July games, and 13 August games.
Game times for the 2014 season remain unchanged from 2013. With the exception of Opening Night, early season (April and May) weekday (Monday through Thursday) games will start at 6:35 p.m. At the start of the season in April, Saturday games will be played at 6:05 p.m. and then move to 6:35 p.m. from May throughout the end of the season. Regular season weekday games will start at 7:05 p.m. from June through August. All 11 Friday night games will commence at 7:05 p.m.
Along with the evening games, there are 12 afternoon games on the schedule next season. Once again, Reading will host three "Education Days" for school groups on Wed., May 7, Thurs., May 22, and Thurs., May 29 with each game starting at 11:35 a.m. For the 13th straight year, Reading will host the 9:35 a.m. Morning Game on Monday, June 9.
The 2014 promotional schedule will be announced at a later date.
Beginning with the July 26 game, all fans can sign up for season tickets, mini-plans, and group outings for the 2014 season. Those who sign up now for next season will receive two great benefits.
All fans who sign up now at FirstEnergy Stadium, by phone at 610-370-BALL, or via Fightins.com will receive the first benefit of locking in pricing now for 2014 at 2013 prices. Fans who sign up for a plan or group outing will receive a second, bonus benefit just for signing up while attending games at FirstEnergy Stadium. For each plan or group outing that fans book for 2014, they will receive a choice of an autographed ball signed by four top Phillies prospects: Jesse Biddle, Maikel Franco, Jim Murphy, or Kelly Dugan. The autographed ball offer is good only while supplies last. In order to ensure their choice of an autographed baseball from a Fightins star, fans are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible at Fightins home games.
