July 29, 2013

DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Dragons are hosting Donatos Pizza Family Movie Night with a showing of "The Sandlot" (rated PG) on the giant video board at Fifth Third Field. The gates for the event open at 6 p.m. and the movie will begin at 8 p.m. Families are invited to bring a blanket and find a spot on the stadium's outfield grass and enjoy a night of fun at the ballpark.

A film that still captures the hearts of baseball fans young and old, "The Sandlot" made its debut on Blu-ray/DVD March 26 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment in celebration of the beloved film's 20th anniversary. "A charming and whimsical comedy about boys and baseball and a GREAT BIG DOG" ("Siskel & Ebert"), "The Sandlot" ranked in the Top 40 as one of the best sports movies ever.

Groups are advised to arrive early not only to secure a great spot, but also to enjoy the festivities before the movie begins. Kids will get to see Dragons mascots Heater and Gem, enjoy plenty of inflatable games, see some great skits from the Green Team and have some ballpark food.

As part of the festivities, "The Sandlot" director David Mickey Evans will be at Fifth Third Field. Evans will sign autographs and pose for pictures throughout the event.

To get tickets to the event, all fans have to do is order any large Donatos pizza or oven baked sub from any Dayton-area Donatos location to get an order form for up to five movie night tickets.
