Raptors fall to Ghosts 5-2
The Casper Ghosts won for the first time in 2009, defeating the Ogden Raptors 5-2 at Lindquist Field Sunday night. Casper catcher Dustin Garneau hit a two-run home run and a two-run double, as the Ghosts chased Raptors' starter Antonio Castillo (0-2) after just 4.0 innings.
Ogden catcher Gorman Erickson laced an RBI triple in the fifth inning, plating the Raptors first run, and designated hitter Angelo Songco added an RBI double in the sixth. The Raptors had just five hits.
Clint Tilford (1-0) worked three innings in relief of Casper starter Chris Balcom-Miller to pick up his first win. Right-hander Clinton McKinney pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for the save.
The Ghosts are now 1-4 with the win, while the Raptors fall to 2-4 with the loss.
The teams will play the rubber match of their three-game series Monday night at 7 pm, with Ogden sending right-hander Elisaul Pimentel to the mound against righty Kyle Hancock of Casper.
