Sudden star Bianchi named Texas League Player of the Week
Bianchi, the 22-year old Lancaster, PA resident, has been nearly impossible to retire in his first nine games in a Naturals uniform since joining the club from Advanced Class-A Wilmington. Indeed, only once, on June 21st, has Bianchi failed to get a hit for the Naturals. His banner week saw him post a .625 average (15-for-24) with a homer and six RBI, including a 5-for-5 effort Saturday night which wrapped up the week with Bianchi hitting the Naturals' second walkoff HR in history. Overall over nine games Bianchi is batting .556 and has an on-base percentage of .600 in 36 at-bats.
Right-hander Trey Hearne of the Springfield Cardinals was named as the loop's Pitcher of the Week for his efforts Friday outdueling Tulsa Drillers' right-hander Jhoulys Chacin, and earning Springfield a playoff spot as the first-half champion in the Texas League North Division.
