Former Owl Adenhart Dies in Car Accident
The Orem Owlz organization is devastated to learn of the death of former pitcher Nick Adenhart following a traffic accident early Thursday morning.
"First and foremost our thoughts are with Nicks family at this time. From his first start with the Owlz it was clear Nick was a special player," Orem Owlz General Manager Aaron Wells said. "However, it was his personality, kindness and good nature that impressed me the most. Nick continued to remain close with members of the Owlz organization. As his career developed many of us felt as though we were watching a member of our family succeed. He will be greatly missed."
The 22-year-old was a 14th round draft pick in 2004 by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He spent part of the 2005 season with the Owlz where he helped lead them to the Pioneer League Title.
Adenhart spent four seasons in the Angels Minor League System before making his Major League debut on May 1, 2008.
