ROUND ROCK, Texas - After playing 30 games with the Triple-A Round Rock Express, DH Manny Ramirez has been released by the Texas Rangers, announced by the club on Tuesday.

Over his brief stint with the Express, the 41-year-old Ramirez batted .259 (28-for-108) with three home runs and 13 RBI. He was signed to a minor league contract by Texas on July 3, playing his first game in an Express uniform on July 7. He has gone 2-for-10 over his last four games, logging eight multi-hit games with the E-Train on the season. His last home run came on July 14 at Omaha.

A 12-time All-Star, Ramirez began the season with Taiwan's EDA Rhinos before signing with the Rangers. He ranks 14th all-time with 555 career major league home runs, playing in 2,302 major league games. The Express became his second Triple-A stop in as many seasons, playing 17 games with the Sacramento River Cats in 2012.

With this move, the current Express roster sits at 24 active players with three major league rehabs and two on the disabled list. A revised roster has been attached.

The Express and Rainiers continue a four-game series tonight at Dell Diamond. The E-Train will don its 1959 Austin Senators jerseys for the 7:05 p.m. start on the final Turn Back Tuesday, presented by Cedar Park Premier Dentistry featuring half-price tickets. Howie Bedell will be on-hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch tomorrow night as the renowned outfielder played 146 games in center field for the '59 Senators. Right-hander Evan Meek (5-7, 3.80 ERA) will take the mound for Round Rock, while Tacoma will send Andrew Carraway (6-5, 4.80 ERA) to the hill.
