Calderoni was a prominent businessman and enjoyed a variety of sports, especially baseball and boxing. He was active in his family's charity, Fundacion Alfredo Harp Helu, which, among other philanthropic ventures, contributes to scholarships for baseball players.

Calderoni is survived by his wife Vanessa Anaya, his 11-year-old son Alfredo and his eight-year-old daughter Michelle. The funeral service, held on Monday, was attended by family members, business entrepreneurs and members of the Mexican baseball community.
