Zolz's Gets Traded to Charleston

Believe to be the first "P.A. Announcer Swap" in Baseball History
August 19, 2013

FISHKILL NY-- The Hudson Valley Renegades announce today the official trade of P.A. Announcer & voice of the Renegades, Rick "Zolz" Zolzer to the Charleston Riverdogs (Single-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees).   Zolz will be joining our Goldklang Group sister team on Wednesday, August 21 for what is believed to be the first "P.A. Announcer Swap" in baseball history.

While Zolz puts on his distinctive show in Charleston, Renegades' fans will hear a touch of the south as Ken Carrington, popular P.A. Announcer for the RiverDogs will take the mic and provide his unique announcing and emceeing style to our fans at Dutchess Stadium.

"We are excited to hand over the mic to Ken for the August 21 game here at The Dutch," said Eben Yager, Renegades Senior Vice President & General Manager. "As we will miss Zolz for the night, having the opportunity to swap P.A. Announcers with our sister team will give our fans a unique experience at the ballpark."

Carrington, whose style has him walking amongst the fans, has held the RiverDogs' mic for 10 years. In addition to games, he has been on hand for many events and promotions, including the famed "Silent Night." Zolzer, who has been with the Renegades since 1994, is known for his high energy and was also part of a unique promotion in 2012 when he worked a Renegades game poolside from his home and delivered his announcements over the Internet via Skype.

On August 21, the Renegades will take on the Aberdeen IronBirds at 7:05pm and the Charleston RiverDogs will host the West Virginia Power. Zolz will return as P.A. Announcer on August 22 as the Renegades complete a 5-game homestand at Dutchess Stadium.

Tickets for the game are available by contacting the Renegades Ticket Office at 845-838-0094 or visiting us online at hvrenegades.com.
