C's ready to battle Boise starting Friday

It's all about the 'fun' out at Nat Bailey Stadium this week
July 8, 2009
(Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - The Vancouver Canadians return to Nat Bailey Stadium this Friday night and the promotions and excitement are waiting for you when you and your family arrive!

Friday, July 10th at 7:05pm

Join us as we celebrate the success of former Pittsburgh Steelers punter and local boy Mitch Berger. A member of the Super Bowl Champions, Berger will be out at "The Nat" to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and show off his new Super Bowl Champions ring.

As well, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a baseball presented by Roger's Plus.

The Canadians will throw RHP Ronny Morla in the series opener vs. Boise in hopes of setting the tone for this five-game set. First pitch is set for 7:05pm.

Saturday, July 11th at 7:05pm

The C's will once again light up the skies as it is yet another fireworks extravaganza presented by Canadian Direct Insurance that will keep you entertained post-game.

We celebrate Canadian Olympic Curler Kevin Recksiedler who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch just minutes before C's pitcher RHP Joselito Adames tries to stop the Hawks in their tracks. First pitch is set for 7:05pm.

You can listen to the game on The TEAM1040 Sports Radio, flagship station for Canadians Baseball all summer long.

Sunday, July 12th at 1:05pm

It's another A&W Family Fun Sunday, and that means a super cool gate giveaway (Canadians Baseball Cap to the first 500 kids 12 years of age and under), $1 A&W Frosty Root Beer Floats (proceeds to charity), and the always exciting 'Running of the Bases' post-game.

Get this, former Olympic Gold Medallist Wrestler Daniel Igali will be out at Nat Bailey Stadium to throw out the first pitch!

The C's will trot out RHP Ricardo Penalba in hopes of a Sunday victory.

Join us on The TEAM1040 Sports Radio as Rob Fai, Chris Pritchett and Lou Filippo bring you all the excitement out at sun-soaked Nat Bailey Stadium.

Who knows, maybe someone will "Slug the Mug" and everyone will win a free Teen Burger and Frosty Root Beer. You never know when that will happen.

Monday, July 13th at 7:05pm

Monday is "Little Sluggers Day at The Nat" as the Union Gospel Mission, CTV, The TEAM1040 Sports Radio and the Vancouver Canadians try to create some joy for local kids and families in our own community.

Joins us out at Nat Bailey Stadium for this special night as we give families in need a place to call their own as the Canadians battle the Boise Hawks. Second year Canadians RHP Hector Garcia gets the ball for the home team.

Listen to The TEAM1040 Sports Radio all day long as the Union Gospel Mission holds their annual tele-a-thon trying to raise funds for families in our own community that could use a 'hand-up', not a 'hand-out'.

Tuesday, July 14th at 1:05pm

The Canadians wrap up their five-game series with the Boise Hawks with a "Nooner at the Nat", presented in part by Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA). How's this for a cool gate giveaway, as the first 500 through the gates at Nat Bailey Stadium receive a "Gym Bag".

The Canadians will start their only LHP Julio Ramos in the series finale.
