Knights Unfurl 1st Season Schedule at BB&T Ballpark

(Fort Mill, SC) - Thirty-three weekend home games, along with the return of baseball on the Fourth of July, highlight the Charlotte Knights first season schedule at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. In all, the Knights will host 72 home games at their brand new ballpark, including the 2014 home opener on Friday, April 11, at 7:05 p.m. against the Norfolk Tides. 

Starting times for games have been moved up 10 minutes with first pitch shifting from 7:15 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. for most weekday and all 10 Saturday home games. Sunday start times have also been changed from 2:15 p.m. to 2:05 p.m., and the Knights will host three Sunday night games during the 2014 campaign. Two of the three Sunday night games will take place at 5:05 p.m. (July 20 and August 24), while the final Sunday night game of the season will begin at 7:05 p.m. (August 31). The Knights will also host two 12:05 p.m. weekday games (Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, June 10) next season. 

The month of April will feature 12 home games, including three consecutive Friday home games beginning with a three-game series with the Norfolk Tides from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13. The Durham Bulls, now an in-state rival, will make the trek to Charlotte on Monday, April 14 for a two-game weekday series. The Knights will conclude their first homestand in BB&T Ballpark history with a three-game series against the Gwinnett Braves from Wednesday, April 16 through Friday, April 18. 
 
The in-state rivalry continues as the Bulls return to Knights Stadium for a four-game series beginning on Tuesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 25. The game on Wednesday, April 23 will get underway with an 11:05 a.m. start time - the team's first of two special Education Day games. 
 
In May, BB&T Ballpark will be rocking with 14 home games featuring four with North Division foes the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and four with the Buffalo Bisons. The second of Charlotte's Education Day games is set for Wednesday, May 7 at 11:05 a.m. against the IronPigs. A four-game series with the Indianapolis Indians from Thursday, May 22 to Sunday, May 25 will conclude the month of May.
 
The month of June will feature a hearty sampling of home games as the Knights will entertain fans on 17 occasions during the month -- the most games in one month during the 2014 season. June's home schedule consists of games against Rochester, Columbus, Toledo, and Louisville. 
 
Baseball and fireworks come together in July as the Knights are set to bring back their Fourth of July tradition with a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Norfolk Tides on Friday, July 4. July's home slate features three Friday games and three Saturday games -- the most Saturday games in any month of the season. 
 
The final full month of the season (August) is highlighted by a four-game appearance from the Pawtucket Red Sox from Thursday, August 7 to Sunday, August 10. Charlotte and Gwinnett will battle at BB&T Ballpark six times over the course of August, while an appearance by the Durham Bulls and Norfolk Tides is also on the August docket. 
 
The Knights will conclude their first season at BB&T Ballpark with a two-game series against the Gwinnett Braves from August 31 to September 1. The final regular season game of the 2014 season is slated for Monday September 1 at 2:05 p.m. (Labor Day).

Season tickets for the 2014 inaugural season at BB&T Ballpark are on sale now and can be purchased by phone at (980) 207-0079, by email at [email protected], or in person by stopping by the Knights Uptown Offices located at Packard Place, 222 South Church Street, 3rd floor, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. 

Field Box season tickets start at $756 per seat or only $10.50 per ticket per game. A minimum deposit of $150 is required per season ticket. A package includes the same seat for 70 home games (excludes two school days), plus two ticket vouchers good for a field box seat during the regular season. Season ticket agreements are for two and four-year terms.
