Darren Daulton Foundation Fundraiser to be Held Saturday Night

Auction and raffle will take place in place of appearance by former Phillies catcher

READING, Pa.---The Reading Fightin Phils will be holding a Darren Daulton Foundation Fundraiser at Saturday's 6:35 p.m. game. The fundraiser will be held in lieu of the previously scheduled Darren Daulton appearance presented by Yuengling.

The night will feature an auction and raffle in VIST Bank Plaza where various autographed items will be available including:

•   Darren Daulton Autographed Mitchell & Ness Jersey

Saturday evening's game also features a post-game fireworks show presented by All Star Distributing and Yuengling. The game also will feature one final 2013 appearance of the National Penn Bank Fightin Phils Mascot Band during the pre-game.

Diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, following brain surgery in July, Daulton played 14 of his 15 seasons with the Phillies where he won a Silver Slugger Award in 1992 and was the catcher of the infamous 1993 National League Champions and. A three-time All-Star, Daulton went on to win a World Series ring in 1997 with the Florida Marlins.

Daulton, 51, played with Reading in 1983 as part of what many call the best team in franchise history. He hit .262 with 19 home runs and 83 RBIs in 113 games to help propel the R-Phils to the best record in the Eastern League (96-44).

Following his playing career, Daulton hosted his own sports talk radio show "Talking Baseball with Dutch" on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia.
