T.J. Large Promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket

RHP Ryne Miller and Ryne Lawson Added to Roster

Portland, Maine- Portland Sea Dogs' right-handed pitcher T.J. Large has been promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket. The Sea Dogs have received right-handed pitcher Ryne Miller from Single-A Salem and right-handed pitcher Ryne Lawson rejoins the club from Single-A Lowell. Lawson will start for the Sea Dogs Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Hadlock Field. Miller will wear uniform # 33. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Junichi Tazawa has been placed on the temporary inactive list, effective July 11th, so that he may participate in the XM Satellite Radio Major League Baseball Futures Game today in St. Louis, Missouri. The 23 year-old Miller is tied for the Carolina League led in wins with eight. Over 27 relief appearances with Salem, Miller has notched a 8-2 record with two saves and a 2.77 ERA (17 ER/ 55.1 IP). Last season, Miller spent his first full season in professional baseball with Single-A Greenville, where he posted a 2-3 record with fours saves and a 5.68 ERA. The Texas native was signed by the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent in July 2007.

Lawson is 1-7 with a 6.44 ERA in 12 starts for Portland this season. The 24 year-old was selected by the Red Sox in 30th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

The 23 year-old Tazawa, has posted an 8-5 record with a 2.29 ERA (27 ER/ 87.0 IP) in 16 starts for the Sea Dogs in 2009. He ranks third in the Eastern League in wins (8), fourth in strikeouts (79), and sixth in ERA (2.79). Tazawa was signed by the Boston Red Sox as an amateur free agent on December 11, 2008.

The 11th XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game will be broadcast live on MLB.TV, ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD at 2:00 PM on July 12th and followed live on MLB.com's Gameday. The Futures Game features the top prospects in Minor League Baseball, with a team of U.S.-born players competing against players from around the world, as a showcase of the great international talent throughout baseball. Every Major League organization is represented with at least one player. Each roster is compromised of 25 players. Tazawa will play for the World team, which will be managed by Jose Oquendo. Ozzie Smith will manage the U.S. team.

The Portland Sea Dogs are scheduled to take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday at 1:00 PM and Monday at 12:00 noon at Hadlock Field before breaking for the All-Star break.
