San Jose Giants Mac Williamson Named California League Offensive Player of the Week
SAN JOSE, CA- San Jose Giants right fielder Mac Williamson was named California League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on August 25. Williamson homered four times, collected 12 RBIs, scored 10 runs and went 13-for-27 at the plate in six games last week. With 24 home runs overall, he now leads the team in that category and is in third place in the California League.
Selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 3rd round of the 2012 draft, Williamson owns a .329 batting average with 15 home runs and 49 RBIs in 61 games since the All-Star break. His current offensive performance has helped propel the team to a nine game winning streak and a 6-0 mark on their current road trip.
Williamson is the sixth San Jose Giant to receive Player of the Week honors in 2013, and first position player since April to earn the award:
