'Dads Fulfill Duck Dynasty Dream

Young fan gets one-on-one time with Mountain Man
August 27, 2013

Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads first-ever "Duck Dynasty Night" proved to be a huge success this past Friday, as more than 4,500 fans packed Crawdads Stadium to catch a glimpse of Duck Dynasty's resident handyman known as "Mountain Man". The 'Dads were also able to make one young fan's wish come true, with the opportunity for some one-on-one time with a Duck Dynasty celebrity.

Landon Scronce got to sit down with the bearded icon during the game, where the pair was able to relax and enjoy a laid back conversation.

"He talked about his church and traveling everywhere with the other (Duck Dynasty) guys," said an excited Landon. "He even said he would take me hunting some time!"

Landon, 12, is diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. When the Crawdads found out what a big Duck Dynasty fan Landon is, they invited him and his family to the ballpark for a VIP experience.

"We were happy to be able to provide Landon with the opportunity to meet a character from his favorite show," said Crawdads General Manager Mark Seaman. "We really appreciate Mountain Man spending some time with him and we hope it's an experience he'll never forget!"

Wearing his newly autographed Duck Dynasty hat, Landon was all smiles after the encounter.

"It was a lot of fun," professed Landon. "It's my favorite show."
