Glenn Named Fisher Cats MVP
In his second go-round with the Fisher Cats, Brad Glenn eventually earned his first shot at Triple-A. In the process he also earned MVP honors as the Fisher Cats R. Howard Webster Award winner. The Blue Jays recognized Glenn and the Webster Award winners from each minor league team in Toronto during the final weekend of the regular season.
Glenn's second season with the Fisher Cats saw improvement in nearly every category. Serving as the primary right-fielder, Glenn raised his average to .264, a 25-point climb from a year ago thanks in part to a sizzling June average of .343. He smacked 17 homers, led the team for the second straight year with 69 RBI's, and produced a career-best 28 doubles, all resulting in an Eastern League All-Star nomination.
Glenn left New Hampshire after playing 111 games for his first shot with Triple-A Buffalo. The promotion produced immediate dividends for the Bisons as Glenn homered in his first Triple-A at-bat. He played the final 18 games with Buffalo, hitting .246 with five long balls and 10 RBI.
Overall in 2013, Glenn batted .261 with 22 homers, 29 doubles, and 79 runs batted in. He added stellar play in right field committing just three errors between the two levels of play.
As for other notable Webster winners in the organization, Ryan Goins - the Fisher Cats' MVP in 2012 - earned MVP honors with Buffalo. Go-Go hit .257 with the Bisons, compiling 22 doubles and six home runs before spending the final six weeks of the season with Toronto. Second baseman Jon Berti - a potential Fisher Cat in 2014 - earned MVP honors with Class A Dunedin.
