Brock Huntzinger Signs with Orioles

Former Drive RH Brock Huntzinger signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. The 25-year old has pitched in the Boston organization for the past seven seasons.

Splitting time between AA-Portland and AAA-Pawtucket in 2013, Huntzinger made 49 relief appearances while posting a 1.83 ERA and a 5-2 record while striking out 62 batters in 68 2/3 innings. He recorded 13 saves in 25 appearances with Portland and had a 1.43 ERA in 24 appearances with Pawtucket.

Huntzinger was a starter during his early minor league career, making 31 starts over 2008-09 with the Drive. After making six starts with the team at the end of the 2008 season, he spent the duration of 2009 in the Drive rotation, going 10-9 with a 4.09 ERA.
