Stottlemyre Jr. promoted to Diamondbacks Bullpen Coach

Former Osprey & Diamondbacks Pitching Coach back in big leagues

MISSOULA, MONT - The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that former Missoula Osprey and Arizona Diamondbacks pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. has been promoted to the big league club's field staff in the role of bullpen coach.

Stottlemyre was the Osprey pitching coach in 2005 & during the club's second Pioneer League Championship season in 2006.

After leaving Missoula, Stottlemyre spent two-plus seasons as the Diamondbacks minor league pitching coordinator.

This will be Stottlemyre's second stint on the big league staff. He was the Diamondbacks pitching coach 2009-2010.

Stottlemyre has been the D-Backs short-season pitching coordinator since being reassigned from the Diamondbacks pitching coach post.

The Osprey will open their 16th season in Missoula with a three game series on the road against the Helena Brewers beginning Monday, June 16. The O's home opener is set for Thursday, June 19 against the Great Falls Voyagers.
