Alomar, McGriff & Pillar headline 4th Annual Luncheon
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club announced on Monday that the Toronto Blue Jays will be well represented at the upcoming 4th Annual Scotiabank Vancouver Canadians Hot Stove Luncheon set for Friday, January 24th, 2014 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar will be joined by five-time All-Star Fred McGriff, President & CEO Paul Beeston, General Manager Alex Anthopoulos and former Vancouver Canadians outfielder Kevin Pillar who became the first C's player to join the Blue Jays MLB roster since that two organizations signed a Player Development Contract back in 2011.
The Scotiabank Hot Stove Luncheon, now into its fourth year, helps the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation raise both awareness and funding for the many community initiatives taken on by the C's including a Baseball League that sees more than 300 local children discover the game of baseball out at historic Scotiabank Field each summer.
Both a live and silent auction will take place during the event as well as a special announcement that will have fans around the province buzzing about baseball for years to come.
Tickets to the 4th Annual Scotiabank Vancouver Canadians Hot Stove Luncheon featuring the Toronto Blue Jays can be purchased by calling 604.872.5232 or by visiting the Nat Bailey Stadium Box Office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
