Thursday, August 27, 5:30 p.m.: Gates open at 5:15 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch as the Royals and Zephyrs complete their July 3rd game that was suspended by rain tied at 2-2 after 10 innings. If that contest is completed in time, the regularly scheduled game, which will be nine innings, will start at the original first pitch time of 7:05 p.m. Start the weekend early with Thirsty Thursday! Enjoy $1 beers and Cokes, presented by 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and the City Weekly. It's also Teacher Appreciation Night, presented by Oriental Trading Company. The Royals players will wear black hats, which will be autographed and auctioned off to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The night is also presented by KAT 103, KETV and the City Weekly.

Area police, fire, military and other public service personnel will have displays in the stadium parking lot to show fans how they keep our community safe.
