INDIANAPOLIS -- Catcher Ryan Doumit smashed a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to push Indianapolis past Toledo, 5-4, Tuesday afternoon at Victory Field.

The Indians, who have won eight of their last 11 contests, improve to 14-12. The Mud Hens fall to 12-14, two games back of the International League West Division-leading Tribe.

Indianapolis 2B Gookie Dawkins led off the seventh with a walk and then stole second. After RF Rich Thompson was hit by a pitch, Doumit followed by nailing a pitch off the center-field wall to bring both runners plateward. Doumit, who also had a third-inning triple, finished the game 2-for-4.

The Indians grabbed an early lead in the first when 3B Jose Bautista doubled, allowing CF Rajai Davis and DH Raul Gonzalez to score. Bautista added an eighth-inning two-bagger to finish the game 2-for-4. Over his last 10 games, the 25-year-old is hitting 12-for-34 (.353) with five runs, four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.

Indianapolis SS J.J. Furmaniak brought home an important insurance run in the eighth as Toledo threatened in the ninth with a pair of scores.

Mud Hens 2B Ryan Raburn opened the visitor's last at-bat with a double. RF Ryan Ludwick then walked before DH Josh Phelps brought Raburn home with a single. LF David Espinosa followed by lifting a sacrifice fly to plate Ludwick.

Indians RHP Matt Whiteside (1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB) navigated through the eighth and ninth to record his fifth save of the season. LHP C.J. Nitkowski (1.0 IP, 1 BB) finished the seventh inning and recorded two outs in the eighth to pick up his second win of the season.

Toledo LHP Cory Hamman (1.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB) allowed Doumit's double and took the loss.

Indianapolis LHP Tom Gorzelanny (5.1 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) took a no-decision in his sixth start of the season. RHP Scott Strickland (1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 SO), who was making his 11th appearance of the campaign, extended his scoreless innings streak to 18.0.

Mud Hens LHP Wilfredo Ledezma (4.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO) also took a no-decision.
