Morales, Bees sink 51s

Kendry Morales had a triple and a single with two RBIs to help Salt Lake top visiting Las Vegas, 9-5, on Tuesday.

Tommy Murphy, Nick Gorneault, Brian Specht and Adam Pavkovich collected two hits apiece to lead the Bees (16-9) in their third straight win.

Joe Saunders (3-1) gave up two runs on seven hits in six innings to notch his third win. Marcus Gwyn threw a scoreless seventh frame and Nate Bland yielded three runs on 1 1/3 innings. Jonathon Rouwenhorst recorded the last two outs for Salt Lake.

Sergio Garcia and Joel Guzman homered for the 51s (16-10), while Russell Martin went 3-for-5 with a double.

Eric Stults (2-2) surrendered six runs on nine hits while striking out four for his second loss. Justin Reid relieved him and gave up three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings.

Salt Lake will go for a three-game sweep when the teams resume the series at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday. --Christopher Heine/MLB.com
