Chicago White Sox Announce Great Falls Voyagers 2014 Field Staff
(Great Falls, MT) - The Great Falls Voyagers, the Advance Rookie affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are pleased to announce that former Voyagers hitting coach Charlie Poe will lead the 2014 Voyagers team; Poe will be joined by returning pitching coach Brian Drahman, new hitting coach Greg Briley, and Will Lawhorn as the trainer. Also, returning to the staff is former strength and conditioning coach Tim Rodmaker.
Poe, 42, has been the hitting coach for the Voyagers since 2012 and begins his first season as the role as Manager. Charlie Poe had a 13 year career in mostly in AA and AAA. He has helped lead the Voyagers to the playoffs the past two seasons.
Nick Capra enters his third season as the White Sox director of player development, and Kirk Champion will serve as the organization's field coordinator for the third consecutive season.
The Voyagers made the playoffs in 2013 but were eliminated by Helena, 2-0, in the best-of-three semifinal round of the Pioneer League Playoffs.
The Voyagers will open their season June 16th against the Billings Mustangs on the road and will return home on June 21st to again face the Billings Mustangs.
