Royals and City of Burlington Announce Brand New Scoreboard
The Burlington Royals are pleased to announce that the City of Burlington and Burlington Royals Baseball Club have agreed to add a brand new scoreboard at Burlington Athletic Stadium in 2014. The new scoreboard, provided by Nevco Integrated Display and Scoring Solutions includes some brand new features. Some of these features include full LED lighting, LED team names, a decorative truss on top of the scoreboard and a 16' wide LED message center below the scoreboard. Both Tony Laws, Director of Recreation and Parks and General Manager, Ryan Keur stated their appreciation in thanking Burlington City Council for approval of this project.
The first chance to see the scoreboard in action will be on April 23rd when the City of Burlington welcomes Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament to Burlington Athletic Stadium. Laws stated, "We think it will be a great addition to the stadium to truly enhance the fan experience at games for the entire community to enjoy." He also went on to mention that "it will provide a great vehicle for the ballclub to provide information to their fans."
This improvement allows the Royals to add a new dimension to the experience and games at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Keur stated, "We could not be more excited about the addition a new scoreboard brings to this stadium." He also went on to mention, "This allows us to add a level of involvement and interactivity at our games that we have never been able to offer before." The scoreboard will go into production this week and installation should begin towards the end of February.
Burlington is set to open its season on June 17th against the Kernersville Bulldogs from the Southern Collegiate Baseball League for an exhibition game. They will begin Appalachian League play on the road and return home on June 25th for Opening Night.
