Rondon Returns to Bolster Bullpen

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Loons' right-handed reliever Luis Garcia to the Washington Nationals with a player to be named later for veteran infielder Ronnie Belliard.

Garcia was 5-3 with a 2.92 ERA in 34 appearances in 2009 with the Loons.

He will be replaced on the Loons' active roster by Daigoro Rondon. Rondon began the year with Inland Empire, where he went 1-2 with a save and a 7.62 ERA in 10 relief appearances. Most recently, he was with the Ogden Raptors, where he was 3-4 with seven saves and a 3.98 ERA in 19 relief appearances.

Regarded as the Dodgers' No. 23 prospect by Baseball America, Rondon began 2008 with the Loons and went 4-11 with a 6.96 ERA in 21 appearances (11 starts).
