La UNAM inaugura el Deportivo 'Alfredo Harp Helú'
México, D.F. (diablos.com.mx) 5 de febrero.- Al lado del Dr. José Narro Robles, rector de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, el C.P. Alfredo Harp Helú, Presidente del Consejo de Administración de Diablos Rojos del México, inauguró este miércoles el Deportivo 'Alfredo Harp Helú', recinto del que se beneficiarán 25 mil jóvenes universitarios.
Ubicado en avenida del Imán, el Centro Deportivo 'Alfredo Harp Helú' cuenta, en esta primera etapa, con espacios para la práctica de futbol soccer, futbol rápido, futbol siete, handball, baloncesto, voleibol, bádminton y hockey sobre pasto.
"Siento una profunda admiración hacia mi alma máter, la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, la institución por excelencia que acoge diariamente al mayor número de estudiantes de nuestro país. Confío en ella por su entrega diaria a la educación de nuestros jóvenes, porque en sus aulas está la mayor esperanza para el desarrollo y la transformación de México", comentó el Presidente del Consejo de Administración de Diablos Rojos durante su visita a la Máxima Casa de Estudios.
"Me siento honrado de que mi nombre sea inscrito en un complejo deportivo y agradezco la distinción que hoy se me otorga, de la misma manera llevo a la UNAM grabada dentro de mí", agregó el C.P. Harp Helú.
En el evento estuvieron también presentes, Jesús Mena, titular de la CONADE; Felipe Muñoz, presidente de la Comisión de Deporte de la Cámara de Diputados; Horacio de la Vega, director general del Instituto del Deporte de la Ciudad de México, y Severino Rubio, director general de Actividades Deportivas y Recreativas de la UNAM. Ante ellos y frente a la comunidad universitaria, el C.P. Alfredo Harp destacó la importancia de contar con más espacios deportivos en la capital mexicana.
"Una sociedad que fomenta y practica el deporte es una sociedad sana espiritual y físicamente, se requiere de disciplina, constancia y esfuerzo, el deporte incentiva la convivencia, canaliza la energía, reduce la obesidad y aleja las adicciones. Agradecido con la UNAM, he colaborado en la medida de lo posible, porque mi confianza está en la raíz del cambio, en la educación, la cultura, el deporte, el cuidado del medio ambiente, la investigación científica en todos los sentidos y la salud" señaló don Alfredo Harp, quien adelantó que ya trabaja con distintas instituciones, patrocinadores y niveles de gobierno para instalar más de diez mil gimnasios al aire libre en todo el país en un lapso de tres años.
Por su parte, el rector de la UNAM, destacó la activa participación del C.P. Alfredo Harp Helú en los esfuerzos pro educación, cultura y deporte que lleva a cabo la Máxima Casa de Estudios.
"Hoy, este complejo deportivo lleva su nombre, pero podría ser una biblioteca, una sala de cultura, un edificio de aulas, podrían ser muchas cosas, porque son muchas las áreas donde Alfredo Harp, su convicción y su fundación lo han llevado a apoyar a nuestro país", subrayó el doctor Narro Robles.
"He tenido la oportunidad de ver su generosidad reflejada en muchos momentos, uno de nuestros grandes, mayores y mejores benefactores en la Universidad, una persona que se cuenta por miles y miles de becas que a través de su fundación la UNAM ha entregado, no ha habido una sola vez que como rector le pida algo que no tenga una respuesta favorable", destacó en el evento el rector de la UNAM.
Durante la inauguración del Deportivo 'Alfredo Harp Helú' se dio a conocer que en una segunda y tercera etapas, las instalaciones del complejo darán cabida a 22 disciplinas deportivas distintas.
