Baseball at the Beach returns to Myrtle Beach

Coastal Carolina hosts field including past National Champion

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (FEBRUARY 11, 2014) - The 14th Annual Caravelle Resort Baseball at the Beach tournament launches on Thursday, February 20 at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Joining host Coastal Carolina is a strong lineup of programs: George Mason, Illinois, UConn, and past National Championship team Wichita State.

Baseball at the Beach tournament tickets can be purchased at the gate or by calling the Myrtle Beach Pelicans ticket office at (843) 918-6000.

Ticket prices:

  • Single Game - $5.00
  • Day Pass - $10.00
  • All Tournament Pass - $25.00

Founded in 2001 by Myrtle Beach sportsmen Bob Calliham and Jim Owens, Baseball at the Beach is one of the nation's premiere college baseball tournaments. Anchored by Coastal Carolina University's nationally-ranked program, the tournament provides fans an early season glimpse at some of the nation's elite teams. Through the years, the tournament has showcased powerhouse programs such as South Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and TCU. Many participating teams have used Baseball at the Beach as a springboard for successful seasons, which have included appearances in the College World Series.

Baseball at the Beach is played at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark, one of the nation's acclaimed minor league baseball stadiums. Home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Advanced-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark has gained notoriety for its college baseball as well. The facility hosted the 2007 NCAA Regional, hosted by Coastal Carolina University, which drew a stadium record attendance of 6,200 on June 3, 2007, when the number-one seeded Chanticleers battled Clemson.
