The Yankees are Coming for the Playoffs!

Best-of-three series starts at LeLacheur Tuesday
September 6, 2009
The Spinners return to the playoffs Tuesday evening at LeLacheur Park when the Staten Island Yankees arrive in town. The Spinners will play one game at home before heading to Staten Island in the best of three series, with the winner advancing to the championship round.

The Spinners and Yankees, winner of the McNamara Division, split a six-game season series in 2009. The Spinners swept the Yankees out of LeLacheur Park before the Yankees returned the favor taking all three from the Spinners over the Fourth of July in Staten Island.

The match-up pits two of the hottest teams in the league together, as the Yankees recently had a 13 game winning streak snapped by Vermont and the Spinners have won 13 of their last 17 games.

The Spinners look to add a baby step in the decades old rivalry between the two parent clubs when staff ace Jose Alvarez (8-2, 1.53) gets the ball for a 7:05 first pitch from LeLacheur Park as he looks to give the Spinners a 1-0 series lead.

Great tickets remain available for the Spinners return to the playoffs and the Spinners Box Office will open Monday, Sept. 7 to accommodate fans from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., while tickets can be purchased at any point on-line at lowellspinners.com.
