25 Fireworks Nights Set to Light Up Curve, Pa. in 2014
CURVE, Pa. - More than one third of Altoona Curve home games in 2014 will be followed by a fantastic fireworks show, the team announced today. The team will have fireworks to start the season on Opening Night, to celebrate the Fourth of July and on their last regular-season game of the season on August 28. The fan-favorite of Sunday Night Fireworks will return in mid-May on May 18 when the Curve take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
"For years, Curve fans have spoken through their attendance that they love the fireworks shows at Peoples Natural Gas Field," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "As such, we make sure to give them ample opportunity to catch a game, or two, or 25 with fireworks following the contest. The lineup of star-reaching shows matches up perfectly with our 'Catch Stars' theme this year: the Eastern League All-Star Stop, giveaways saluting former Curve players that are now Pirates' stars, and our list of television and sports stars appearing in Curve, PA."

Coinciding with some of the fireworks dates in 2014 will be two of the three scheduled jersey auctions. The first will take place on June 29 as the Curve partner up with Reliable Towing Tire & Auto Center for a fourth jersey auction to don 1992 Pirates-styled Curve jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The other two jersey auctions will come on back-to-back nights when the Curve sport artist-inspired jerseys on Day of the Arts Day (August 24) before wearing a hockey-styled jersey to celebrate the arrival of Pittsburgh Penguins' center Craig Adams (presented by WTAJ-TV) on Monday, August 25.
"The jersey auctions we have lined up this season will be really special and raise funds for great causes," said Egan. "We can't wait to see how the jerseys will look on the players during those games and then how much fans with the winning bids will enjoy receiving them in the post-game ceremonies. The jersey-off-the-back auctions are another example of the memory-making experiences fans have here in Curve, PA."
