Swamp Shop is stocked with new fanwear

The countdown is on for Opening Day on Friday, April 4, but you don't have to wait until the first pitch to show your support for the Hens. Fans can now flock to the Swamp Shop to check out all of the new Mud Hens swag for the 2014 season. Swamp Shop Manager Stephanie Miller says they're fully stocked with a wide variety of new Mud Hens wear, hats and novelty items.

Some of the new 'hot items' will be perfect for those cool spring days, such as new pullover jackets featuring the home font and batting practice logo, as well as new quarter-zip pullovers featuring the away logo and pennant logo.

Miller says the Swamp Shop is also now stocked with a new line of '47 Brand t-shirts for men and women, as well as over 50 new styles of Mud Hens lids for men, women and kids, including New Era 59FIFTY-style batting practice hats.

If you're looking for different ways to handle your favorite beverages, Miller says there's plenty of new Mud Hens and Detroit Tigers glassware items, such as beer glasses and coffee mugs.

The Swamp Shop this year will also be expanding its 'Holy Toledo!' collection. Craig Katz, Director of Merchandising and Licensing, says besides the 'Holy Toledo!' t-shirts already in stock, other novelty items will also be coming in during the season.

Katz says a new line of Under Armour Mud Hens fanwear is on the way as well, including t-shirts and sweatshirts for men, ladies t-shirts, and youth t-shirts and sweatshirts.

The Fifth Third Field Swamp Shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Virtually all items available at the store can also be found online at www.mudhens.com/swampshop.

Friday, April 4 will be an extra special Opening Day in downtown Toledo. The Hens get the fun started with their home opener at 4 p.m. The Toledo Walleye will be playing a regular season game at the Huntington Center at 7:15 p.m. It's an Opening Day Downtown Doubleheader!
