San Manuel Stadium, 66ers, Set to Host County Clash This Weekend

Weekend's Contests to Start off 18th Edition of Annual Series
March 20, 2014

(San Bernardino, CA) - This Saturday, the Inland Empire 66ers will kick off the 18th Annual County Clash as they host the first of four triple headers at San Manuel Stadium. The series, which debuted in 1997, allows local schools and their baseball teams to raise money for the programs as well as the opportunity to play in a professional baseball stadium.

This weekend's set of contests include Arroyo Valley High School vs. Carter High School at 1:00PM, followed by Kaiser High School vs. Fontana High School (4:00PM), and the A.B. Miller Rebels vs the Yucaipa Thunderbirds (7:00PM). Gates will open up at 12:00PM with admission granting access to individuals for all three games. Other schools to be featured throughout the four date series include: Arrowhead Christian High School, Beaumont High School, Bloomington High School, Cajon High School, Citrus Valley High School, Colton High School, Eisenhower High School, Hemet High School, Jurupa Hills High School, Redlands High School, Redlands East Valley High School, Rialto High School, San Gorgonio High School, San Jacinto High School, and Taquitz High School,

Participating Schools are given 1,000 tickets to sell to their families, friends, classmates, and supporters at $4.00 each. The 66ers offer 50/50 split on all the proceeds from the ticket sales, allowing teams to earn up to $2,000 for their respective baseball teams. Tickets can be purchased directly from participating schools prior to the event, but will also be available at the box office on the game dates.

"As a team we always strive to be an active and impactful member of the community," said 66ers General Manager Joe Hudson. "I can't think of a better way to be involved with the community than by supporting our local high school baseball programs. Even better, we are able to provide memories for young baseball players that they won't forget as they receive the opportunity to play on a professional baseball field."

The road to winning back-to-back California League Championships begins when they visit the High Desert Mavericks on Thursday, April 3rd. The 66ers open at home a week later on Thursday, April 10th when they welcome the Mavericks to San Manuel Stadium.
