Nuts Introduce New Character
The Modesto Nuts Professional Baseball Club has announced a third character will be joining Al the Almond and Wally the Walnut. The character, a female pistachio, will make her first appearance at John Thurman Field in June. "We are excited to add a third character to complement Al and Wally," said General Manager, Tyler Richardson. "We feel a strong, independent female character will resonate with all of our fans."
The Nuts want the Modesto community to assist the franchise in naming our pistachio. Fans will have a one-week period (ending on March 28th) to submit their suggestions. All suggestions can be sent to our official Facebook page or submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #NameNutsPistachio.
The finalists for the #NameNutsPistachio contest will be unveiled on Thursday, April 10 as part of the Nuts Opening Day festivities. At that time, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite name via the official website of the Modesto Nuts, www.modestonuts.com.
Individual tickets for Opening Night and all 2014 Modesto Nuts home games are currently available online at www.modestonuts.com and at the Modesto Nuts box office from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
