22 Fightin Phils Games to be Broadcast by Service Electric

Ninth season of partnership between Service Electric and Reading Fightin Phils
March 21, 2014

The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have announced their official schedule of televised games for the 2014 season in conjunction with partner Service Electric Cable TV and Communications.

Over the course of the season, Service Electric will broadcast 22 games, including the 222 Showcase on April 1st, on its sports network, 2Sports. 2Sports is available exclusively to Service Electric Cable subscribers. As with last year's slate of games which were televised, 2Sports will carry games that will be available in high-definition.

"Service Electric is dedicated to providing our viewers the best in local sports coverage, from the minor league prospects on the Reading Fightin Phils to our local high school sports broadcasts," said Service Electric 2Sports General Manager Andy Himmelwright. "Year in and year out, we've made technological leaps to present the best television broadcasts in the Eastern PA region and we can't wait for another summer of Fightins games broadcast on 2Sports."

Making his return to the 2Sports booth for the 2014 season will be longtime Reading broadcaster Steve Degler. Degler served as Reading's primary radio voice from 1992 until 2008 and was the longest tenured broadcaster in the Eastern League prior to his departure. He is currently serving as the color commentator for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs TV Network on 2Sports.

Degler's play-by-play will once again be accompanied in the booth by color analyst Tim Neiman. Neiman is entering his sixth year with the crew and he is currently the head coach of the DeSales University baseball team. As a former major league baseball scout with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox, Neiman has over 30 years of collegiate coaching experience that will lend to his expert analysis for Fightin Phils games.

Based in Allentown, Pa., SECTV 2Sports produces the games which will also be carried by network affiliated Service Electric Cablevision, Service Electric Company, Blue Ridge Cable TV-11, Blue Ridge Cable TV-13, and WYLN-35. Overall, Fightin Phils games will be carried in over one million homes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania.

The 2014 season will be the Fightins' ninth on SECTV 2Sports.

The Fightin Phils will kick off the 2014 season on Thursday, April 3rd at 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium when the team takes on the Portland Sea Dogs. Savage 61 Fightins VIP Club plans, group tickets, and single game tickets for 2014 can be purchased online at Fightins.com, by phone at 610-370-BALL, or by visiting the FirstEnergy Stadium Ticket Office.
