The Game Grill + Bar Opening Now Open
(AKRON, OHIO) March 26, 2014 - The Game Grill + Bar, Akron's newest year-round, full-service restaurant, will open to the public Thursday starting with breakfast service at 7:00 a.m.
The Game Grill + Bar occupies the South Main St.-level space below the area formerly used by Wing Warehouse and Menches Brothers. This 4,000 square foot restaurant is open year-round and serves a full-scale breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch menus.
"After several months of hard work, we're excited to open The Game and continue to be part of the revival of downtown Akron. The Game will maintain the same great quality experience fans of the RubberDucks have become accustomed to, while offering an extraordinary lineup of culinary options for three meals a day at an affordable price," said Akron RubberDucks owner and CEO Ken Babby.
The Game features all-American style fare and treasured views of Canal Park, with rich state-of-the-art media for watching games and a great environment for conducting business. The Game will also carry gourmet versions of some of Canal Park's popular "Extreme Menu" items, such as "The Screamer" giant sundae, the "Three Dog Night," and the "Nice 2 Meat U" burger.
Weekday kitchen hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. Prices range approximately $4-10 for breakfast and lunch and $8-17 for dinner.
A unique feature of The Game is a complex system of folding-glass walls, which will open to allow fans an open-air view of the action. The open-style dining room is highlighted by a custom Akron-related mural painted by local artist Mike Ayers, and custom neon designs on the walls, as well as tire-tread look trimming and brushed-metal bat light fixtures above the tables and bar. The Game also will have valet service along South Main Street.
The Game's full menu and Open Table reservations link are available on the official website www.thegameakron.com and the restaurant's Facebook link is www.facebook.com/thegameakron and on Twitter with the handle @thegameakron. Reservations can be made through the Open Table link located on www.thegameakron.com.
