Cardinals And Redbirds Cancel Friday's Exhibition Game In Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The St. Louis Cardinals and the Memphis Redbirds announced that they are cancelling tonight's exhibition game due to heavy rain, deteriorating field conditions and the continued threat of heavy rain.

"We are very disappointed that we have to cancel tonight's exhibition game, but we have a responsibility to ensure that our players have safe playing conditions," said Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak. "We enjoy such great fan support in Memphis and today was especially exciting with the purchase of the Memphis Redbirds"

The Cardinals have announced that they will schedule an exhibition game against the Memphis Redbirds at AutoZone Park next season. Details will be forthcoming when the Cardinals announce its 2015 Spring Training schedule. "While we are disappointed that we will not be able to showcase the 2014 St. Louis Cardinals at AutoZone Park, we are excited that they will be back in 2015." said Mozeliak.

All fans who purchased tickets from the Redbirds for the cancelled game should present their ticket via mail or to the AutoZone Park Box office beginning Monday, March 31, where they will receive a voucher entitling them to a ticket to a 2014 St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium and a credit for 2014 Memphis Redbirds tickets equal to the value of your exhibition ticket. Exchanges must be made within 30 days.

If you purchased a special ticket pack, you will receive a credit equal to the value of your exhibition game ticket.

Fans wishing to receive a refund for tickets purchased to the 2014 Memphis Redbirds vs. St. Louis Cardinals game scheduled for March 28th can return the original tickets to AutoZone Park for a refund of the ticket price within 30 days. Refunds will be issued to the original ticket buyer via the original payment method. Tickets purchased with a credit or debit card will have a credit issued to the same card and tickets paid with cash or check will be issued a refund check from the Memphis Redbirds. Credit/Debit Card refunds will appear on customer accounts within 7 days of ticket return. Check refunds will be issued within 30 days of ticket return.

Tickets not presented within 30 days will automatically be mailed the Cardinals voucher and issued a 2014 Redbirds ticket credit. Consistent with current Redbirds exchange policy, credits will not be available for use for July 4, 2014 game.
