Orioles finalize opening day roster

The Orioles today announced several roster moves to finalize their 25-man roster.

Four players have been placed on the 15-day disabled list: INF MICHAEL ALMANZAR (retroactive to March 23 - left patellar tendinitis), INF MANNY MACHADO (retroactive to March 21 - recovering from left knee surgery), OF FRANCISCO PEGUERO (retroactive to March 21 - right wrist tendinitis), and OF NOLAN REIMOLD (retroactive to March 26 - cervical spine fusion surgery). Additionally, RHP EDGMER ESCALONA has been placed on the 60-day disabled list (right shoulder impingement).

The Orioles have also selected the contracts of RHP Evan Meek and OF Delmon Young. 

To make room for Young and Meek on the 40-man roster, LHP MIKE BELFIORE has been designated for assignment.

Additionally, LHP JOHAN SANTANA has been reassigned to minor league camp.
