Former Crawdads on Opening Day Rosters
The 2014 season has opened with 103 former Crawdads on the roster of a Major League or an affiliated Minor League Baseball team. Twenty-three other former players are currently in extended spring training due to injury or are inactive and are awaiting an assignment to a team.
No former Crawdads made their debut in the majors to open the season, although Nick Martinez, who was assigned to AA Frisco to start the season, will make his major league debut with the Texas Rangers on Saturday. Two former Crawdads players are making their debuts at the class AAA level, while seven more players were placed on a class AA roster for the first time.
At the class high-A level, 11 former Crawdads will play at this level for the first time, 10 of those with Myrtle Beach.
While not assigned a parent club, the Mexican Leagues are considered a part of the National Association at the AAA-level, and thus former Crawdads are included with this list.
Former Crawdads playing in independent leagues or foreign leagues are not included below.
An updated list will be kept on the Crawdads website throughout the season,
Asterisks indicate players debuting at their current level when the season opened.
